Budget & Finance Subcommittee Meeting - May 22, 2019
A meeting of the FY2020 Budget & Finance Subcommittee was held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 6:00 pm in the Coddington Building. Present were Mr. Anthony Andronico, Mr. Paul Bregoli, Mr. James DeAmicis, Mr. Doug Gutro, and Mrs. Kathryn Hubley, Chair. Also attending were Superintendent Richard DeCristofaro, Deputy Superintendent Kevin Mulvey, Mr. James Mullaney, Ms. Maura Papile, Ms. Erin Perkins, Ms. Madeline Roy, Mr. Keith Segalla; Citywide Parent Council Co-President Courtney Perdios, and Ms. Laura Owens, Clerk.
Dr. DeCristofaro reviewed the next steps for the FY2020 Budget: the Public Hearing is scheduled for May 29, 2019 at 6:00 pm; the presentation to City Council is Wednesday, June 5 at 6:30 pm; and School Committee will vote on the FY2020 Budget at the June 12, 2019 meeting.
Mr. Bregoli asked about extracurricular funding; $30,000 will be added to the high school budget, these are teacher stipends for clubs or other activities beyond those specified within the QEA contract.
Mr. Gutro asked about the City Council Budget Meeting on June 5, this is the presentation of the QPS FY2020 Budget before the Finance Subcommittee.
Mr. Gutro made a motion to adjourn the FY202 Budget & Finance Subcommittee at 6:05 pm. Mr. Bregoli seconded the motion and on a voice vote, the ayes have it.
