Saturday, November 19, was a poignant day as we honored the late Mr. Richard Kenneally, longtime QPS band director and music teacher, by dedicating the performing arts wing of North Quincy High School in his memory.
The program included performances by members of the North Quincy High School Choir and the Quincy-North Quincy High School Wind Ensemble, remarks by Mayor Koch, Superintendent Mulvey, Mr. Gilbert, and Mr. DeMarco, and reflections from one of Mr. Kenneally’s students, Andrew Mauriello (NQHS ‘98), and Mr. Kenneally’s daughters, Jessica and Jennifer.
We thank the many people from the City of Quincy, Quincy Public Schools, Quincy School Committee, QPS Music Department, and the Kenneally family who helped this dedication come to fruition and we echo the sentiments of Saturday’s program with our sincere hope that many generations of students to come will find their place and find belonging in the Kenneally Performing Arts wing.
